Hi There!I’m Amy Taylor (affectionately) known as "The Shame Eliminator"
How blessed I am to meet you. One of my greatest joys and life's purpose is to work with women ready to Remove their Shoes of Shame and Stand in their Shoes of Power & Promise. Having removed my own shoes of shame (more than once), I can honestly say the decision to release & silence the shame takes dedication, determination and starts from deep within. For many years of my life, I was riddled with shame. Chronic shame is real and intrusive to one's life. I isolated myself from family, friends and business. Shame pushed me into hiding from my own greatness!
Shame had worked me overtime, but the truth is I didn't know it was shame. I thought it was sadness from no longer recognizing the woman staring back at me. |

While on a call with my executive speaking coach I begin sharing things I'd never shared with the world before. After taking everything in my coach said, "Amy" you are not just dealing with pain from being a teen mom you are dealing with shame. In fact, her exact words were “you are wearing others people shame and tonight is when you must make a decision to save yourself and remove other peoples shame". It's time to come out of hiding.
“WOW, I had just been slapped with reality. The words stung but gave me a sense of relief I didn't know I needed.” But my coach was right it was time to give VOICE to all my shame.
I hadn't fully processed all the emotions I was feeling but I finally had a name for the thing that caused me to feel so broken and to ignore the person that mattered most (me). S.H.A.M.E. was the culprit.
After years of simply existing and not living, I fought to FIND MY WAY. I missed my own laughter (it has a personality of it's own) and a smile sure to light up any room.
Shame tried to silence my existence but God had a better plan. It was time to heal. It was time to heal the teenage girl trapped inside the now adult body. It was time to heal from the hurt of being mishandled by others.
BUT, YOU CANNOT HEAL WHAT YOU WON'T REVEAL.
Never Leave My Life Unattended

Now what? What am I going to do with this new information I learned from my one-on-one coaching session about shame.
I've always been that girl my sisters and girlfriends called when life was chaotic and they needed my help to organize their thoughts. Roles had definitely reversed with my needing support but there was one problem, shame had become my dirty little secret.
I did not want anyone to know I was being suffocated by shame, so I never spoke about it but things were about to change. While having breakfast one morning I made a promise to myself that I would never leave my life unattended again. It was time to divorce shame from my life so that I could help other woman divorce shame from their lives.
The more I worked on healing my heart the more my purpose had become clear. I believed in Amy again. I affirmed myself daily. I was focused on the main thing, overcoming shame. Overcoming shame is a process that cannot be rushed and if I can talk Woman to Woman, the process is hard, tiring, humiliating at times, life changing, BUT, I am STRONGER today because I didn't run from the hard work I ran towards it.
The more I understood that happiness was my birthright, the more I began to understand the importance of sharing my story.
I was becoming the woman God intended me to be, not the woman I thought I was suppose to be.

"Today, I've learned it's absolutely okay to love me first and share my story without shame or judgement"
- The Shame Eliminator
There she is, I recognize "her" |
My life was becoming familiar but in a unique way. I gave myself permission to speak my truth and allow the joy to filter through. My mindset was changing and I was in a space where I wanted to learn and teach new things. I started attending conferences, networking events, and one of the best things that brought me sheer bliss (hosting intimate events for women needing a safe place to share their own truth).
Talk about working on that inner confidence. Helping women release their shame has become bigger than coaching, facilitating workshops or even hosting events it's about SAVING LIVES. I've talked with some amazing women who are true DISRUPTERS and committed to Divorcing shame. The hugs and tears I've shared with so many of them heals the soul. I love helping her with Self-Discovery. |
